More than 170 Brownies from Wallington, Weybridge, Worcester Park, Sutton and Merton took part last Saturday, September 17.
The day involved bouncy castles, sideshow games and grass sledging as well as paddling inflatable canoes in the swimming pool collecting plastic ducks.

Olympics set to bring rise in London hotel prices

Olympic fans visiting London for the 2012 Games are being urged to book their hotel accommodation early.
The latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI) has revealed a 14% rise in room rates for those travelling to New Zealand for the current Rugby World Cup.
And in London, increases due to the Games are expected to eclipse the 3% rise - to an average £113 per night - during the Wimbledon Championships.

Merton summer readers enjoy awards ceremony

The winners of the Summer Reading Challenge enjoyed a small awards ceremony last week.
Merton Mayor Councillor Gilli Lewis-Lavender awarded 14 children vouchers and entertainment tickets, as their prize.
This year's Circus Star themed challenge was a record breaker, with 2,944 children aged between four and 11 taking part, compared to 2,817 last year.

Food lovers celebrated their favourite fruits at an event to encourage less food wastage.
Community group Abundance Wimbledon staged a “fruit day” yesterday intended to show people ways of giving fruit that might otherwise go to waste a new lease of life.
Residents were encouraged to bring along a bag of apples or pears from their gardens and turn them into juice with a fruit press.

Fostering charity set up in memory of Sharon Brown

The family of an inspirational foster care co-ordinator are setting up a charity in her name on the anniversary of her death to carry on her work.
Sharon Angela Brown, of Bute Gardens, Wallington died of a heart attack on September 24 last year, and her mother Beryl, who has organised a memorial service for the anniversary, is determined to carry on her good works.

Mitcham Park FC, which was officially launched this weekend, will be based at Three Kings Piece in Commonside West.

Serious head injuries for driver after A3 crash at Tibbets Corner

Police are appealing for information after a driver was badly injured when his car overturned on the A3.
Emergency services arrived at Tibbett's Corner, where Wimbledon Common meets Putney and Southfields, at just after 6am on Saturday, September 10, where the silver Audi RS6 was found at the exit near Wimbledon Parkside.

South London men face furniture drug smuggling charges

Six men have gone on trial accused of conspiring to smuggle more than £2.5m of cocaine into the country.
Kevin Hill, 27, of Cartmel Gardens, Morden, Wayne Smith, 19, of Westmoreland Way, Mitcham and Carl Charles, 33, of Yorkshire Road, Mitcham, face charges of attemtping to import 13.5kg of the drug.

One in ten first class letters in the SW postcode area were delivered late, new figures for spring 2011 revealed.
The area, which includes Wimbledon, Wandsworth and Streatham, saw the Royal Mail miss its target of delivering 91.5 per cent of first class mail the next working day.

Fantastic pupils and teachers - as well as hard work - are behind better results at a much-improved school, its headteacher has claimed.
St Mark's Academy in Mitcham has revealed GCSE results much higher than last year's grades - with the proportion of teenagers hitting one key Government benchmark almost doubling in 12 months.
